Graduation

Application for a Diploma

Degrees are awarded three times a year.  Candidates for any Groupe ESLSCA-International Graduate Education degree or certificate must file an application with the Office of the Dean during the first month of the term in which they will complete their degree requirements.

Graduation with Honors

Academic achievement is recognized through designations in the granting of degrees.  The award is indicated on the transcript when the degree is conferred, and three distinctions exist:

  • Summa Cum Laude: A student must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.90.

  • Magna Cum Laude:  A student must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 to 3.89.

  • Cum Laude:  A student must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to 3.74.

Outstanding Academic Achievement Award

The award is presented to the student who attained the highest academic record.  A gift accompanies the award.

Distinguished Service Award

The award is presented to the student in the graduating class who contributed the most to the quality of the degree program in which he or she is involved.  The award includes a gift and a certificate.

Commencement Exercise

While ESLSCA-International Graduate Education awards degrees three times a year, it may hold commencement exercises once or twice a year.

Participation in a commencement exercise does not ensure that degree requirements have been completed.  A commencement exercise may be held before that all the grades have been reported.  Moreover, a final evaluation of all academic records is done by the ESLSCA Academic Standards and Discipline Committee after all final grades have been reported.
